CALGARY —
The Calgary Board of Education will mandate indoor face mask use for all college students and staff when the worn school year begins on Sept. 1.
The transfer modified into once announced in a letter sent by Christopher Usih, CBE chief superintendent of schools, to fogeys and guardians Wednesday afternoon.
According to Usih’s letter, college students from kindergarten via Grade 12 will be required to wear face coverings while inner school constructions.
Plans are at the 2nd in region to lengthen the mask steering of the 2020-2021 school year, together with all outlined exceptions, into the start of 2021-2022 but the steering document will be updated as important later this month.
Usih says the mandated use of masks will be reviewed prior to the cease of September. Any likely adjustments to the CBE tips will be made with consideration for energetic COVID-19 case counts in Calgary and Alberta as successfully as the direction of Alberta’s chief medical officer of health and Alberta Education.
CBE college students within the modified calendar returned to class earlier this week with the mask requirement in region.
The CBE continues to relieve all of its eligible workers to receive vaccinated towards COVID-19.
