BBC digital reporter Tala Halawa’s 2014 antisemitic tweets were unearthed lately.
BBC Information correspondent Tala Halawa has lately reach under fire for a series of antisemitic tweets which were unearthed by pro-Israel Twitter individual Gnasherjew, in step with Merely Reporting.
Halawa is a BBC digital journalist who makes a speciality of Palestinian affairs and covers the Israeli-Palestinian war.
In one of many tweets from July 2014, Halawa wrote that “#Israel is more #Nazi than #Hitler! Oh, #Hitlerwasright #IDF fling to hell.”
In another put up on Facebook, she shared an image with the slogan “Solution for Israel Palestinian war – relocate Israel into United States,” which she captioned to be an “straightforward and uncomplicated world resolution! To enlightening the ‘shaded radical’ heart east.”
Nearly three years after she published these posts, Halawa was hired by the BBC.
In a comment to The Spectator, a BBC spokesperson said, “These tweets predate the individual’s employment with the BBC but we are nonetheless taking this very critically and are investigating.”

In its article Merely Reporting said, “these are no longer the tweets of an aim reporter. Rather merely, no longer most effective does Halawa fail to fulfill BBC’s hold said requirements, she represents the polar reverse of what’s expected of any skilled journalist.”
