When Maluma spent seven days in Jamaica, he walked away with a fresh EP. “On Monday, we did the first song, then on Tuesday, the 2d song,” he tells MTV News. “It became admire a total skills making the album in seven days.”
The outcomes of that excursion became #7DJ (7 Días en Jamaica), the Colombian artist’s latest release, for which he also created seven fresh song movies. They differ from the humid occasion scene of “Tonika” to the easy, yet cinematically shot “Treasure” to the account-pushed “Chocolate.” All of them signify the elevated epic of Maluma’s sprint and the song it yielded, including a collaboration with Ziggy Marley, the son of one of his idols.
“Since I started my profession, I’ve been making this roughly song — reggae, diverse roughly dancehall, and most of those rhythms,” he says. “One of my favourite artists is Bob Marley, and he inspired me admire loopy on this fresh album. It became something that I already had in my DNA.”
