EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu mislead his Twitter followers when he claimed that the Zondo commission had no longer invited the get together to give proof.
Commission proof leader advocate Alec Freund SC stated on Monday that Shivambu’s claims were removed from the truth.
Shivambu lambasted the commission earlier in February, accusing it of handiest sharp “factional puppets” because it embarked on hearing parliamentary oversight-connected proof.
In his assault on the commission Shivambu tweeted: “This factional nonsense of a commission handiest chooses people and ex-people of parliament who will account for and validate their pre-conclusions. The EFF fought for the commission to be established and yet they received’t ever talk about to us because we’re no longer factional puppets. Sies!”
Freund, on the opposite hand, stated Shivambu was lying as the EFF and 11 political events that were represented for the length of the Zuma years in parliament were invited to beget submissions.
Shivambu’s claims were extra traumatic because, stated Freund, the EFF had any individual who signed an acknowledgment of the invitation.
“It has been drawn to my consideration that on social media, there was a proposal that the commission is selective within the political events represented in parliament from whom proof has been sought.
“A determined Mr Floyd Shivambu made some feedback on Twitter and the sting of it’s this, ‘the EFF fought for the commission to be established and yet they received’t ever talk about to us because we’re no longer factional puppets’ with the advice being that their proof will not be any longer being solicited.
“The purpose I want to internet page on the document is that letters were despatched on the 27th of February 2020 to each of the 12 political events [in parliament]. On this yell instance we’ve a signature from a consultant of the EFF acknowledging receipt of that letter [on March 3, 2020].”
