Effectively being minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has thanked nurses for their contribution in the fight against Covid-19 as SA on Friday marked precisely one three hundred and sixty five days since the first case became once recorded.
Speaking at the inaugural awards ceremony named “Angel Wings”, Mkhize said that since the first case became once reported on March 5, 2020, South Africans had witnessed the steadfastness and resilience of neatly being-care workers through their contribution in the response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Though this became once carried out below very challenging conditions within our neatly being design, nurses soldiered on time and again and remained at the forefront even the build their dangle lives had been at likelihood. We also acknowledge the proven truth that all the different cadres of neatly being-care workers rose to the occasion in the fight against Covid-19. We have confidence emerged as world leaders in neatly being emergency response thanks to the expertise, courage and stamina in the enviornment,” he said.
The Angel Wings project is an initiative bustle by the SA Sneakers & Leather Export Council (Saflec) to honour neatly being-care workers for their contribution to the fight against Covid-19. Nominations had been submitted by sufferers who had been handled for Covid-19 at varied hospitals, as they realized solace in the professionalism, care and compassion of the neatly being-care workers who sorted them in hospitals as they battled the illness.
The inaugural award ceremony observed 12 recipients from Inkosi Albert Luthuli Effectively being facility and Life Entabeni Effectively being facility in KwaZulu-Natal receive the awards from the minister. The awards shall be expanded to other provinces.

The minister said the initiative to honour neatly being workers as “troopers that fade over and beyond on the battlefield” by awarding them Angel Wings became once “a solemn distinction and design of symbolising the mountainous gratitude now we have confidence got for the sizable sacrifices whereas in the line of duty” which have confidence been liked.
“We are grateful to allotment this moment with you on this, the anniversary of the first case of Covid-19.
