Nearly eight years in the past, 7-year-dilapidated cancer patient Jack Hoffman turned into an inspiration by scoring a landing during Nebraska’s spring football game.

On Monday, his father, Andy, succumbed to his possess battle with cancer.

The Team Jack Foundation that Andy Hoffman began to elevate cash for pediatric brain cancer examine announced that Andy died Monday from Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. He became once 42.

Andy Hoffman started The Team Jack Foundation after Jack became once identified with the illness in 2011. 

The Hoffman household are Nebraska fans, and Jack became once on a rupture from his chemotherapy treatment when he entered the 2013 Red-White Spring Game wearing a pink No. 22 Cornhuskers jersey. On fourth-and-1 from the 31-yard line, Jack ran the ball into the high zone in entrance of more than 60,000 fans.

Andy became once identified with brain cancer last summer and underwent treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He decreased in size COVID-19 in February and became once unable to continue chemotherapy treatments. His spouse, Bri, wrote last week in a submit on the Team Jack internet reveal that Andy’s neurological symptoms were worsening.

Jack is now a 15-year-dilapidated high faculty freshman and his cancer is in remission.
