Feds announce $400M to cut greenhouse gas emissions at ArcelorMittal Dofasco

The federal govt has announced $400 million for a mission at ArcelorMittal Dofasco that the firm says will help it cut carbon emissions by more than half of.

Deputy Top Minister Chrystia Freeland, together with Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Minister of Labour Filomena Tassi, made the announcement at the Hamilton steelmaker on Friday.

The governmentacknowledged its investment is share of a $1.765-billion mission to share out coal-fired steelmaking and is predicted to cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to three million tonnes per One year by 2030.
