After napping on a couch for 18 years of her life, Nosiphiwo Mgadi, who is disabled, had her life changed by Gift of the Givers’ intervention on March 23, when they donated a wheelchair and a unusual bed to sleep on.
The 18-year-archaic woman is a Port Alfred resident and is regarded after by her 72-year-archaic granny, according to Gift of the Givers undertaking manager Ali Sablay.
Sablay said a local neighborhood activist contacted them about Mgadi’s plight, which ended in their intervention. “This woman was orphaned at a younger age. She is regarded after by her granny. For 18 years she has been napping on the couch. She by no means had a specialised wheelchair,” he said.
“Gift of the Givers came on board and presented this 18 year archaic woman together with her first bed and a brand unusual wheelchair.”
“We also offered the grandmother with some adult nappies for the child. As you already know the child makes use of adult nappies and they arrive from the poorest of the unfortunate,” he said.
They also offered some groceries.
Gift of the Givers had a busy day on March 23, as they also donated study material, food parcels, hygiene packs, masks and sanitisers to each pupil at Alexandria High Faculty at a police operate regarding gender based violence.
Sablay went on to level out that all the matriculants have been also supported with faculty bags while the faculty purchased a JoJo tank for water.
