Helicopter fighting wildfire crashes west of Edmonton

Emergency responders are on scene at a helicopter crash Monday night near the community of Evansburg, Alta., west of Edmonton.

RCMP told CBC Recordsdata acknowledged it’s believed there used to be one person on board the helicopter and the dwelling of that person will not be identified at the present.

A 175-hectare wildfire has been burning within the region since final week and is on the 2nd listed as being held, which is why the helicopter used to be within the location.

“The airplane that has crashed is a helicopter that used to be engaged within the firefighting efforts in that location,” acknowledged RCMP Corp. Candace Hrdlicka.

In step with a files liberate, quickly after 6: 30 p.m. Monday Evansburg RCMP obtained a 911 name reporting an airplane crash in a much off location near Evansburg.

Evansburg RCMP, EMS, firefighters and Alberta Wildfire responded to the dwelling, which is west of Twin carriageway 22 and north of Twin carriageway 16 in Yellowhead County. 

The positioning will not be accessible by street. Hrdlicka police accessed the dwelling by airplane. 

Police proceed to analyze the incident.

Evansburg is set 100 kilometres west of Edmonton.
