With several communities across Manitoba being forced to evacuate resulting from wildfires, many pets are being left behind in potentially unhealthy conditions.
Melanie Chudyk, the clinic coordinator for the Manitoba Animal Alliance, acknowledged the workforce is trying to attend the evacuated northern communities by rescuing the animals, and reuniting them with their householders.
She acknowledged two communities are in particular conclude to the fires – Miniature Huge Rapids First Nation and Pauingassi First Nation. The Manitoba Animal Alliance has no longer been in a position to earn into Miniature Huge Rapids resulting from the thickness of the smoke, nevertheless gain managed to earn to Pauingassi by helicopter.
