A Labrador Metropolis man who has been in custody since 2018 while anticipating a murder trial became ordered released by the courts on Friday, March 19.
Vincent Ward, 32, had his bail conditions modified following a listening to, allowing him to be released until his trial. Particulars of the listening to are under a e-newsletter ban.
There were a resolution of conditions connected to his release, including providing three sureties, that he reside at a particular location in Cosy Valley-Goose Bay, abide by a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, file to RCMP day-to-day and no longer exhaust medication or alcohol.
Ward is charged with first-level murder and a firearms offense in relation to the April 2018 loss of life of 28-year-extinct Vincent Belanger Dompierre of Montreal in Labrador Metropolis. Police said on the time that Dompierre became shot and the two men were believed to possess identified every other.
He pleaded no longer responsible to the costs in early 2019 and became scheduled to transfer on trial this week and next in Cosy Valley-Goose Bay. His trial is now scheduled for Nov. 8, 2021.
