BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The nation’s utterly historically Dim college system will be browsing for a brand unusual chief.
The Southern College System in Louisiana announced Friday that its president and chancellor, Ray Belton, will be retiring in the drop. Belton declared his intentions at a gathering of the college system’s governing board.
Belton has spent 35 years with Southern. That involves 14 years as chancellor of Southern College’s campus in Shreveport and the most contemporary seven years as president of the college system and chancellor of its Baton Rouge campus.
“Over the direction of my tenure, I even make a choice up had the enormous fortune to work with some exceptionally talented colleagues. Together, I judge our work has enabled us to design the college in a skill that it would continue to be viewed as a premier institution throughout the larger education community,” he acknowledged in an announcement.
The Southern College System has bigger than 13,000 students all over campuses in Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Contemporary Orleans. It additionally operates a legislation college and an agricultural learn center.
