PITTSBURGH (AP) — Patricia Rooney, the wife of late Pittsburgh Steelers chairman Dan Rooney, has died. She became 88.
The Steelers stated in a statement that Patricia Rooney died peacefully at her residence on Saturday. A cause of death became no longer given.
Patricia Rooney’s husband, who died in April 2017, served as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland from 2009-12.
“My household and I are mourning the passing of my mom, Patricia,” Steelers president Art work Rooney II stated in a statement. ”She helped elevate 9 younger folks whereas supporting my father’s profession with the Steelers and his time as Ambassador to Ireland. It is miles a sad day for our household. ”
