Rabbinic human rights group urges US gov’t to take more Afghan refugees

T’ruah, a rabbinic human rights group, known as on the Biden administration to expedite taking in Afghan refugees fleeing their nation following the Taliban takeover, the group announced on Wednesday.  

The co-chair of the group’s board, Rabbi Nancy Wiener, released an decent assertion referring to the complex place of residing of Afghan refugees, declaring that “the US has a appropriate duty to evacuate as many at-risk Afghans as possible.”

“We proudly stand with our companions in calling for the Biden administration to receive Afghans to the US or other third worldwide locations for expedited processing of Particular Immigrant Visa applications,” Wiener continued. 

In January, T’ruah used to be one of the most revolutionary Jewish groups that opposed the codification of the IHRA antisemitism definition.
