The Vancouver Park Board says its workers is “heartbroken” after several trees in a metropolis park were defaced with racist graffiti this weekend.

Pictures of the trees in Riverview Park were shared on Reddit. Among the trees contain swastikas spray-painted on them, while one more has the phrase “White Energy.”

The vandalism was once realized on Saturday, according to the park board, and as a minimum eight trees were defaced.

Gordon Hawkins was once one of the these that encountered the graffiti on Saturday and notified police and the park board about it.
