Higher training and training minister Blade Nzimande has told parliament that rising college student funding became tantamount to the country capturing itself within the foot.

This as a crisis already exists within public colleges, that are funded at about 62% in preference to 80%, he told the portfolio committee on elevated training on Tuesday.
“I could maybe presumably be irresponsible if I didn’t highlight the indisputable fact that whereas rising student funding is welcome, it is not adequate because if we develop student funding on the expense of the system, we are then capturing ourselves within the foot. Nzimande acknowledged rising the funding would nearly crumple SA’s public training system, citing high charges of failing among students and the risk of shedding personnel, together with lecturers.
