Sportscaster Robert Marawa reveals he spent a week in ICU as he battled  Covid-19

Popular sportscaster Robert Marawa has revealed that he battled Covid-19 for three weeks and his health deteriorated to such an extent that he spent a week in the ICU for Excessive Care.

Marawa has been off air for several weeks but his restoration has been so encouraging that he may be back on radio on Monday to recent his Marawa Sport Worldwide, which is simulcast on both Radio 2000 and Metro FM.

“It is with great gratitude that I aloof find myself alive and able to address this personal matter publicly.

“As a broadcaster within the media space‚ I wrestled with the even handed sharing this part of my crawl publicly‚ then again‚ I also came to realise that my reality may help educate and perhaps even save any person’s lifestyles‚” he said.

“I’d win to start by first thanking my family‚ finish pals and my fantastic fans who have showed great field since my absence from radio and social media in the past few weeks.

“I was no longer too long ago diagnosed certain with Covid-19 and started strict self-isolation‚ while no longer taking any medically prescribed pharmaceutical medication.

“What started out as the flu-fancy indicators we’ve all been warned about‚ swiftly ended in fulminant debilitating inexplicable fatigue without shortness of breath on day eight of my diagnosis.

“A physician buddy advised me to obtain the digital device that measures pulse and blood oxygen concentration.

“When oxygen concentration dropped to 92‚ hospital admission was arranged via X-ray to establish lung condition. Chest X-ray showed in depth pneumonia.”

Marawa said it was at this stage that he was despatched to the ICU.

“I was seen in the general ward for a further 2 days ahead of I was discharged to transfer home‚” he continued.

“The medical professionals working tirelessly to revive my health concluded that the in depth degree of Covid-19 pneumonia that I had developed may have resulted in a far worse expertise had I no longer sought medical intervention as soon as I did.

“Thus it’s extraordinarily important that one seeks medical attention as soon as that you can think of instead of isolating at home while the indicators continue to intensify.”

SA has entered a third wave of infections and is recording a surge of latest cases every single day.

Marawa urged South Africans to take the pandemic severely and to apply strict protocols.

“The Covid-19 pandemic is real and it’s something that my family and I have been dealing with.

“I‚ along with many South Africa’s have lost family individuals and dear colleagues to this virus and as I now make my way to paunchy restoration‚ I’d win to warn anyone out there who is aloof taking this global pandemic flippantly.

“The coronavirus is vicious on the physique‚ it is a no longer easy battle and I encourage you to take care of yourself and your family individuals by following all the protocols establish in place to assist in decreasing the spread of Covid-19 and even extra so as to seem medical attention sooner than later.
