Unusual wildfire above Peachland forces evacuation dispute, local state of emergency

A new wildfire has broken out north of Peachland in the Inside of.

The fire, identified as the Mount Legislation wildfire, has grown fast from a discipline fire to now no longer lower than 200 hectares in size.

The blaze has compelled an evacuation dispute and a local state of emergency for the City of West Kelowna.

The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre has issued the dispute for properties in the instantaneous rental of the fire.

The properties on Evacuation Negate are:

  • 4713 MacKinnon Avenue
  • 5000 Glenrosa Avenue (Bull Mountain Resort – formerly Crystal Mountain Resort)
  • 4425 Glenrosa Avenue (Telemark Nordic Club)
  • 3237 to 3530 Carre Avenue
  • 3237 to 3512 Corine Avenue
  • 3372 to 3725 Emerald Avenue
  • 3496 Fenton Avenue
  • 3318 to 3475 Gill Avenue
  • 3280 to 3802 Glenrosa Avenue
  • 3301 to 3583 McKellar Avenue
  • 3230 to 3525 Preston Avenue
  • 3325 to 3770 Turnbull Avenue
  • Central Okanagan emergency operations is expanding the evacuation dispute for the #MountLaw wildfire to incorporate all properties east of Gates Avenue to Glenrosa Avenue. All other properties in that neighbourhood remain on alert.
