Nova Scotia businessman Tareq Hadhad says he’s assured of an financial turnaround in Canada by the stop of 2020.

Hadhad, who fled war-torn Syria with his family in 2015, has opened a brand original store for his internationally a success mark, Peace By Chocolate. During Friday’s store opening, a canopy hid his smile. But, Hadhad’s eyes restful sparkled.

“We wanted to translate our custom and our heritage into something so stunning. So will delight in to you undercover agent in the arch, the turquoise, that interprets into the coloration in our stale properties in Damascus,” Hadhad acknowledged.

The sweets approach from a factory in the town of Antigonish, N.S., where the Hadhads settled after coming to Canada. Quickly after he was once sworn in as a Canadian citizen final 365 days, the pandemic hit. Hadhad says it’s been demanding for his family. But, he says they’ve a keen perspective than many Canadians. He says a bomb destroyed their original chocolate factory, in Damascus, in 2012.

“Nothing compares to living in your rental, in downtown Damascus at that point, and correct waiting for an airstrike certainly,” Hadhad acknowledged. “It’s been certainly demanding for our family during the war. But, when the pandemic came, we are staying dwelling, nevertheless, we are staying stable in our properties.”

Hadhad says investing in a brand original store, at a time when many businesses are barely hanging on, is a testament to a ideal marriage: the root of peace and the kind of chocolate.

“Peace is the noblest cost on earth that everyone will delight in to battle for. And chocolate is a manufactured from happiness, Chocolate makes happiness, correct?”

Within two hours on opening day, bigger than 100 customers had arrived. Among them was once Tanessa Holt, who works for one more Halifax business that is partnering with Peace By Chocolate to replace products.

“He’s charming, he’s charismatic, he understands what he’s doing,” Holt acknowledged. “He creates a goal correct looking product. And he brings the crew in and brings us together.”

Now that he’s added original flavours of sweets, Hadhad plans to install a patio for the summer season. And, he’s working to amplify export networks, in time for a post-pandemic financial system.
