Sebastian Vettel lost his second-set aside of living raise out in Sunday’s Hungarian System One Big Prix after being disqualified by stewards for a gas irregularity, a stewards’ statement acknowledged.
The German, who crossed the line 1.8 seconds within the back of first-time hasten winner Esteban Ocon, failed to hold enough gas left in his Aston Martin to agree with a sample after the hasten as required by the foundations.
The decision moves Lewis Hamilton as much as second, handing the Mercedes driver an eight-level lead over title rival Max Verstappen, who moves as much as ninth.
