VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Police in the city of Virginia Seashore would require officers’ body cameras to be activated instantly when a police officer marks “en route” to a call for service.
The previous body camera policy required officers to spark off cameras as quickly as they arrived on the scene and as quickly because it became “get and luminous to construct so,” WAVY-TV reported this week
The replace in policy falls in the wake of the fatal police shooting of Donovon Lynch on the city’s oceanfront in gradual March. Lynch became a cousin of Virginia Seashore native and Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams.
Police talked about the body camera veteran by the officer who shot Lynch became no longer activated for unknown causes.
Lynch’s shooting has drawn requires a thorough and transparent investigation from Williams and others. It remains under investigation.
Each Lynch and the police officer who shot him are Unlit. That officer and every other officer who saw Lynch’s shooting contain both talked about that Lynch had a handgun, according to police.
