Bafana Bafana maintained their top spot in Group G with a convincing 3-1 over Ethiopia at Bahir Dar Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Teboho Mokoena forced Ethiopian goalkeeper Fasil Gebremichael to score an own goal as his free-kick was too hot to handle in the first half.
Ethiopia, though, leveled matters with a superb free-kick by Getaneh Kebede midway through the second half.
However, Bafana Bafana came back stronger after conceding that goal as Mothobi Mvala restored his side’s lead with an easy tap-in from close range.
There was still time for Evidence Makgopa to find the back of the as he raced to a ball played behind the Ethiopia defence before lobbing it past Gebremichael.
It is also worth mentioning that skipper Ronwen Williams was outstanding between the posts for Bafana Bafana as he made some important saves.
