Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, regent of the Zulu nation, has died.
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, outmoded top minister to the Zulu monarch and nation, confirmed the news on Thursday night time.
“It is with the deepest shock and injure that the royal family broadcasts the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, regent of the Zulu nation. This has taken us all at once and left us completely bereft. It is correct that the Lord alone is aware of the days that He has allotted to every of us.”
Buthelezi said on behalf of the royal family, he wished to assure the nation that while they had been rightly distress-, there’ll seemingly be no leadership vacuum within the Zulu nation.
“Extra bulletins on Her Majesty’s funeral and the most necessary preparations will seemingly be made in due route. Can even fair Her Majesty, our Regent, relaxation in peace.”
On Thursday morning, Buthelezi told TimesLIVE he would respond to questions on the condition of the queen.
Queen Mantfombi, who grew to became regent precise over a month within the past after the loss of life of King Goodwill Zwelithini, was reportedly ill and had been hospitalised. She grew to became the regent in an “interregnum” — unless an authentic successor is named.
Last week, Buthelezi said that the tiring king’s siblings had been allegedly conducting conferences without the authority of the regent.
